Yesterday was discussing about the seemingly uncomplicated but ideologically quite complicated story of Jin San Shun with pei shan and xianan. In the end xianan and me came to the conclusion that the main actor was actually 2 timing and the show is not what is perceived by many to be a very romantic show. It shows that ppl nowadays are not actually as steadfast in love as ppl were portrayed in the ancient times and its really dishearterning to see this. I agree that this show breaks away from the traditional belief that slim is beauty and i cannot deny the fact that i would want san shun and zhen xian to be together but i would say that is because many of us portray ourselves as san shun and not xi zhen. This is so as nobody will think of themselves as somebody who is very perfect.

I used to watch dramas blindly when i was young and think that the 2 main characters should be, must be and will be together, i can't deny it bring great satisfaction to get so engrossed in watching but i really can't bring myself to cheat myself now because i already know the constrains of reality. Nevertheless some dramas are still irresitable and i would really recommend watching this show and '西关大少'( xi guan da shao). The song lyrics are really meaning too. hope those who love cantonese song will learn it.
