Metro Art!
I know this is random but i felt like sharing some pictures today. While doing my Tourism project research on Metro Art (known in Singapore as MRT), I saw a few photos of subways in other countries and was really amazed by the amount of work put into creating the overall aesthetic feel of their public transport.
The stations can double as the world's longest art galleries or in which systems you can find stunning underground palaces, museums, aquariums, comical statues, computer-generated evolutionary architecture.
First on my list is the Moscow Subway!
I think it looks more spectacular than some of the historical site I have seen.

First Runner-up: Stockholm
I think it has a wonderful use of colours. :)

Some of the other more interesting ones:
Entrance of Paris Metro.

Tokyo's futuristic architecture at Oedo Line station

Toronto's interesting station with Optical Illusion Artworks

I wonder if the residents or local passengers do stop to admire these beautiful underground stations they are using. Surprising in one websites I went to, Singapore's MRT was listed as the fifty most beautiful subway systems in the world too. However, I realise I haven't really taken time to appreciate our own 'Art In transit' at NEL. For people like myself, I think this serves as a reminder for us to stop and smell the roses. Learn to appreciate the small little things in life that we often take for granted :) So the next time you use our North-East Line do remember to take some time to look at our Works of art.
